about Wicklow Naturally

01

A journey shaped by nature

Pamela from Ireland and Brett from the USA met far from home and followed a shared path that brought them from California back to the Irish countryside with their young family. Along the way, their lives were shaped by adventure, music, engineering, and a growing passion for food and nature. Settling in Wicklow, the idea of crafting a truly Irish wine began to take root.

02

From wild berries to wild ideas

Inspired by the fresh, aromatic berry wines they discovered in California, Pamela and Brett began experimenting with local elderberries and blackberries from the surrounding meadows. Their curiosity turned into a quiet obsession: could they craft a wine that was not only Irish, but expressive of the land itself? With patience and persistence, they learned the delicate craft of berry winemaking—fuelled by creativity and care.

Móinéir: Irish wine, reimagined

Born from love of Irish nature and food, Móinéir is a wine unlike any other—crafted not from grapes, but from strawberries, blackberries, and elderberries grown in Irish soils. Each limited edition wine is a reflection of the landscape, made sustainably and with deep respect for the environment. From our first bottle launched at Bloom 2016 to today, our mission remains the same: to offer a taste of Ireland’s wild side, from meadow to glass.

“Wicklow Way Wines offer a quintessential taste of Ireland. Fruit forward yet pleasantly complex. I love serving them at Aniar”

JP McMahon, founder and chef at Aniar (Michelin star restaurant), founder of Food On The Edge, food correspondent for The Irish Times, to name a few.

JP has been serving our Blackberry Wine on his tasting menus since around the time it launched.

“We have it on the tasting menu in our restaurant and the reaction from our customers is, they are surprised and they love it”

Neven Maguire, owner and chef at the award winning MacNean House, host of Neven’s Irish Food Trails (RTE1) and lots more.

Neven visited us in Wicklow and recorded a clip for Neven’s Irish Food Trails. Neven also serves our wines in his fabulous MacNean House.

Prince Charles commented: “Very good. Brilliant combination. Very refreshing”

King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort, visited Ireland in June 2018 and took a walk around the English Market in Cork, chatting and tasting a selection of the artisan products available in the market.

Stopping by wine merchant, Billy Forrester of Bubble Brothers, they were treated to a glass of our Móinéir Irish Raspberry Wine, combined with a Camel Valley Brut from Cornwall, named the Deoch of Cornwall!

And they’ve got the right idea of combining one of our Móinéir wines with a wine from your guest’s part of the world – building bridges and making friends!
