Hidden in the rolling foothills of County Wicklow, where wild heather blankets the mountains 
and the air is crisp and clean, something extraordinary is happening. At Wicklow Way Wines, 
we’re crafting a new chapter in Ireland’s rich tradition of food and drink — creating the country’s
only premium wines made entirely from handpicked Irish berries.

It all begins with nature. Our berries — strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and elderberries — are sourced from local farms and wild patches where soil, sun, and sea air combine to produce fruit of remarkable flavour. Each berry is chosen at the peak of ripeness, when natural sugars are perfectly balanced with vibrant acidity. There's no mass production here — only respect for the seasons and the land that gifts us these treasures.

Once harvested, the berries are brought to our winery, where tradition meets innovation. Rather
than infusing grape wine or making syrupy fruit liqueurs, we treat the berries with the same 
reverence given to fine wine grapes. Whole berries are gently crushed to release their rich juices. Fermentation takes place slowly and naturally, allowing the unique character of each berry to shine through without the need for additives or artificial flavours.

The result is a wine unlike anything else — a pure expression of Irish terroir, captured in every bottle. Our Strawberry Wine is delicate and floral, with whispers of summer meadows. Our Blackberry Wine is deeper and moodier, with hints of dark fruit and spice. Each vintage is subtly different, reflecting the year's climate and harvest — true to the spirit of real winemaking.
Crafting berry wine at this level takes patience. After fermentation, our wines are aged to develop complexity and structure. Some, like our Elderberry Wine, rest longer, building deep, layered notes akin to a fine red. Others are bottled younger, preserving their lively, aromatic freshness.
